Manually add .ics into Outlook Calendar

To manually add an .ics file to your Outlook Calendar, use the “Import” feature in Outlook’s settings.

Here’s a step-by-step guide depending on whether you're using the desktop app or Outlook on the web:

🖥️ Outlook Desktop (Classic Outlook)

  1. Save the .ics file to your computer.
  2. Open Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
  3. Choose “Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file (.vcs)”, then click Next.
  4. Browse to the location of your .ics file and select it.
  5. Choose “Open as New” to add it as a separate calendar, or “Import” to merge it into your existing calendar.

🌐 Outlook on the Web (Outlook.com or Office 365)

  1. Go to your calendar view.
  2. Click “Add calendar” (usually a "+" icon or found in the sidebar).
  3. Select “Upload from file”.
  4. Choose your .ics file and select the calendar you want to add it to.
  5. Click “Import” to finish.

🆕 New Outlook for Windows

If you're using the redesigned Outlook interface:

  • Save the .ics file locally.
  • Go to your calendar view and look for “Add Calendar” or “Import Calendar”.
  • Select “From File”, choose your .ics file, and follow the prompts.

If you don’t see these options, you may need to switch back to the classic ribbon temporarily to access the full import menu.
